Dibrugarh – Tezu

  • Arrival Dibrugarh and transfer to Tezu. 

Overnight at Tezu


Tezu 

  • Lohit View Point - is one of the best tourists destination from where one can enjoy the panoramic eye-view of the magnificent Lohit valley of sunrise and sunset view from this point.
  • Tezu District Museum and Craft Center is a must visit attraction and it showcases a number of best art collections that reflect and depict the story of the culture of the tribal Arunachal people. 
  • Botanical Garden  is dotted with varieties of flora that covers a sprawling 23 hectares of land. This must visit garden in Tezu is home to a variety of medicinal plant species and it also including some rare species. 
  • Tezu Dargeyling Tibetan Settlement was established in 1964 to rehabilitated 1240 Tibetan refugees on the total area of 1500 acres of land. It has 3 monasteries and a Carpet weaving Centre.

Tezu - Walong Village  

  • Drive to Walong from Tezu. Passing through the Mishimi tribal belt along the Lohit River passing through the towns of Tidding, Hayuliang, Watong, cvovering a distance of 200 kilometers.
  • There are 2 small temples on top of the hillock along with a small natural hot water spring. The spring offers a welcome and rejuvenating dip 

Overnight at Walong 


Walong - Dong 

  • Drive to the village of Tilam about 20 mins drive from Walong at the confluence of Lohot and Sati Rivers.
  • Across the Lohit river lies the Dong valley the trek is of approx 2 & ½ hours, the village is now abandoned due to lack of water and few farmers come during the day time to till their fields. 
  • Sunrise time during winter months is 5.50 am and sets at 4.30 pm almost an hour prior to rest of the country.
  • Walk back to Tilam for a breakfast at Gorampani camp then drive back to Walong.
  • Explore the Walong village 

Overnight at Dong


Walong - Wakro

  • Drive from Walong to Wakro the journey is of 6 hour covering 200 kilometers.
  • En route stop at Parshuram Kund on the Lohit Parshuram kund is a Hindu pilgrimage centre situated at Telu Shati/Tailung area of Mishmi plateau in the lower reaches of the Lohit River. The entire region is associated with the epic Mahabharata.

Wakro 

  • Explore Kamlang Wildlife Sanctuary The name comes from the River Kamlang, which flows through the Sanctuary and joins Brahmaputra. The local inhabitants are Hishmi, Digaru, Mizo. They Claim themselves as descendent of “King Rukmo” of “Mahabharat”. The scenic beauty of the Sanctuary of the Sanctuary is a bound and un-comparable because of its location, terrain and perennial water sources. The Sanctuary has a few numbers of water bodies at a height of 600 msl and above. The most significant one is “Glow Lake”, situated at a distance of 20 Km from Wakro and the circumference is around 4 to 5 km (approx.).

Wakro – Dibrugarh

  • Drive to Dibrugarh en route visit.
  • Khampti Tribal Village at Empong, is a beautiful village enriched with a swiftly flowing Tengapai rivulet and surrounded by lush paddy field. Tai Khampti, a sub group of Shan race of northwestern Burma who migrated in 18th century. The Khampti possess East Asian features who follows Theravada Buddhism and adopted a script of Shan origin, known as Lik-Tai for their language. Their houses are built on raised floor with thatched roof. Wooden planks are used for flooring and Bamboo splits for the walls.
  • Golden Pagoda at Chowkham is a beautiful Buddhist Pagoda well located in a small island of Tengapani river which is accessible by a metal foot bridge. Nearby is a Buddhist Vihara (Temple ) with an image of Sleeping Buddha.

Departure 

  • Transfer to Tinsukia Railway station / Dibrugarh Airport for onward journey.
