Itinerary Itinerary


Bagdogra, India – Phuntsholing, Bhutan (166 KM)

  • You will be received at Bagdogra Airport, which is in the Indian state of West Bengal, close places like Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim.
  • It takes approximately 5 hours to reach Bhutan from here. Our trip leader will brief you about the driving conditions as well as safety measures before you embark upon your journey from the airport.
  • The roads are in excellent condition and the 5 hours ride will be smooth. When we reach the border town of Bhutan (Phuntsholing), we will have to clear both Indian and Bhutanese immigration formalities.
  • Halt overnight at hotel at Phuntsholing.
Phuntsholing – Paro (150 KM)

  • Today on the first day of your holiday package, we will be heading to some places in the beautiful Paro valley. After a short briefing we will take a ride as to soon hit an uphill winding road crossing the towns of Chhuka and Chimakoti.
  • The road to Paro is an amazing experience as hills and forests that form the quintessential attribute of Bhutan adorn places in that region. We will have lunch at Paro.
  • In the afternoon, we will visit two places, namely Ringpung Dzong and Ta Dzong which has now been converted into a museum.
  • Halt overnight at Paro, Bhutan
Paro (Tiger’s Nest) – Thimphu (65 KM)
  • In the morning, we will ride to Taktsang monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. This monastery is perched on a steep cliff and is believed to be at a site where Saint Padmasambhava landed on a flying tiger.
  • The drive will take us about an hour and after that, we will have to make a 2 hour hike to reach the monastery. In the afternoon, we will depart for Thimphu, the capital city. The road is in an excellent condition and it will take us less than an hour to reach Thimphu.
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu, Bhutan
Thimphu – Punakha (86 KM)

  • In the morning, we will do a sightseeing of Thimphu. We will visit places like the painting school and Tashichho Dzong which also commands a beautiful view of the city.
  • After a brief sightseeing, we will depart for Punakha. The beautiful route takes us about 3 hours. Enroute we will stop at Dochu La Pass which is adorned with 108 stupas commemorating health and prosperity.
  • After a short break here, we will descend down to the Punakha valley. We will visit the Punakha Dzong, once we reach Punakha.
  • Halt overnight at hotel in Punakha.
Punakha – Trongsa (137 KM)
  • After breakfast at hotel, we will leave for Trongsa which is approximately 4-5 hour journey. Enroute to Pele La Pass (highest pass between Wangdi and Trongsa)
  • Visit to Trongsa Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (Watch tower)
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Trongsa – Tingtibi (105 KM)

  • We will depart for Tingtibi following Wangdechu River, is located in southern part of Bhutan; with less settlement and less development.
  • Tingtibi is not only popular for Motor Cycle Expediton but is also one of the best places for bird watcher and anglers. If you are fan of angling on Golden Mahseer then one can give a try here (catch and release)
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Tingtibi Explorations

  • Today, we will explore Tingtibi, a relatively new tourist destination but it is a wonderful place for bird lovers as it is quite close to the Royal Manas National Park
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Tingtibi – Gelephu(115 KM)

  • After breakfast, we will depart for Gelephu, nearest bordering town of India and it’s expected to takes about 4 hour ride.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Gelephu – Guwahati (244 KM)

  • In the morning we then drive to Guwahati, Indian State of Assam, an entrance to the northeastern part of India.
  • Actually meaning of Brahmaputra means Son of the Creator of the Cosmos in Hindu mythology. It will take about 5 – 6 hrs ride depending upon traffic. Afternoon, if time permits, try Brahmaputra river cruising.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Guwahati (Departure)

Today our car will transfer you to airport for your onward flight.
