Kunsang Namdoling Monastery

Located some distance away from Kurseong’s Toy Train station in vicinity of Upper Naya Busty, this is one of the least known Buddhist monasteries in the region. The monastery belongs to Nynigmapa Sect with a nunnery attached to the monastery.

Paglajhora Falls

The Paglajhora waterfall is situated on Mahaldiram Hill near the town Chimli in the east of Kurseong. The Mahananda River originates from this waterfall and the water from the waterfall descends through Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and descends further towards the plains of Siliguri and Jalpaiguri.

Netaji Subash Museum

The Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Museum is a popular tourist spot which is dedicated to one of the most famous freedom fighters of India. The museum is about 4kms from Kurseong Town in Giddhapahar.  The building where the museum is housed belonged to Netaji’s elder brother Sharat Chandra Bose The museum gives insights into the freedom struggles of the country through the various letters, photographs and memorabilia that is present there which are housed in four galleries.

Giddapahar View Point

Giddapahar viewpoint is a few kilometres from Kurseong, provides a great view of the mountains and is a great place for clicking photographs. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga which is carved out of rock called the Giddapahar Seti Mata Temple.

Chimney

About 11 km uphill drive from Kurseong is the sleepy hamlet – Chimeni. The village is heaven for true nature lovers, which is nestled into the clouds. Great views of rolling tea gardens and Rivers Teesta and Mahananda can be seen from here. The village derived its name from 100 years old chimney, which was built by British at the time of World Word I. The chimney is 24 ft. in height along with a well-manicured park.
