Yumthang valley, a plateau surrounded by beautiful snow peaks, is a delight to witness. Beware of the rough, treacherous roads that lead to this place. It is popularly known as 'Valley of Flowers' and is home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary that has over twenty-four species of rhododendrons. The flowering season is from late February to mid June, when countless flowers bloom to carpet the valley in multicolored hues. There is also a hot spring in the valley.
Puni Valley View Point - At the lower end of the valley lies the Puni Valley View point which commands one of the best views of the Yumthang valley and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary. During the autumn months the rocks turn to pink color as the moss growing over the rocks start to dry giving a pinkish colour.
Hot springs – In the middle of the Yumthang valley across the Lachung chu river is the hot water springs. The water is heated due to presence of sulphur which is then mixed with the icy cold water of Lachung chu river. The heated water is channelized in Log huts, a dip in warm water is quite refreshing.
Handicraft Centre in Lachung – A small but worth visiting handicraft centre near the helipad mostly selling local products including sea buck thorn tea, and local woolen products.
