Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. Shillong is called the Scotland of the East.
The rolling hills around the town reminded the British of Scotland. Hence, the British started referring to Shillong as Scotland of the East.

Arrival
Pick you up from the Guwahati airport/railway station and drive onwards to Shillong. Check into the hotel in Shillong, and if time permits, you can visit the Cathedral of Mary and Ward’s Lake. In the evening, you can explore Shillong’s famous Police Bazaar and pick up a few souvenirs. Have dinner at the market and return back to the hotel.
Day 2
Shillong – Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, you will visit Cherrapunjee, which is the second wettest place on earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls. In Cherrapunjee, you will visit Mawsmai Cave; it is a natural cave that will add some thrill to your adventure. We will also take you for a visit to Seven Sisters Falls, where you can experience seven amazing waterfalls complimenting each other, and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch, you will visit Thankarang Park and Koh Ramhah and return to Shillong. Dinner in Shillong and overnight stay. Note: Most of the waterfalls are dry during the winter season.
