Arrival − Borong

We will pick you up from Bagdogra airport/NJP railway station and drive you to the picturesque village of Borong. 

To fully embrace the native way of life, we’ve booked you at the Ghonday Homestay, where you will experience local hospitality, food, and lodging.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before you head off to soak in the stunning morning views of Dalley Dhunga, Panch Pokhri Ridge, and Arra Lung Cho from the starting point of the Dalley Dhunga trek.

Next, you’ll be taken on a scenic nature walk to Silsily Dunga through a mixed forest of bamboo, oak, and Himalayan chestnut. From the serenity of the forest, you’ll be taken to the calm and beauty of Borong Monastery. 

Lunch is followed by a visit to the beautiful Rainbow Falls and Silver Falls. You can spend the evening at leisure at the homestay.   

Explore Borong

Get ready for an interesting day at the paper factory. After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Borong-Polok Handmade Paper Unit, where you can not only observe and learn the traditional technique of making handcrafted paper but also try your hand at making your own paper. You can also buy paper products from here. 

After an engrossing educational experience, your next visit is to the nearby meditation centre. After calming your mind, head to the hot springs (Borong Cha Chu) to rejuvenate your body; the springs have medicinal properties. Afterwards, you’ll be visiting Chiel Falls and old Ralang Monastery. 

Hot traditional lunch awaits you at the home stay after your morning tour.

In the afternoon, feel free to interact with the village community; there will be lots of interesting things to learn and share. Enjoy delicious local homemade dinner from your host’s kitchen.
