GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR NORTH EAST INDIA TOURISM OPERATIONS
Check in time of hotels in this region varies from 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm & Check out time of hotels mentioned is 11.00 am to 12:00 noon.
As the vehicles are less in number, the make model and specifications of the vehicles used cannot be provided beforehand. Details would be made available only 7 days prior to departure dates.
The area (Hill) is comparatively not as developed with respect to the infrastructure, but rich in nature and the facilities available cannot be matched to those available in the plains and other developed destination. Please be informed about this.
As the area is underdeveloped it is quite obvious that the constructions of the hotels are unplanned. This further means that almost all the good hotels are in the city centers. These hotels may have the view of the building in the front, beside or behind them. As the services are very poor in the area, we have made our hotel selection on the basis of SERVICES provided and not as RATED BY TOURISM ASSOCIATIONS.
We do not have star category hotels in our area. So we have termed ‘The Area Hotel’ as LUXURY, which is closed to a Three Star Hotels, ‘The Area’s Second Best Hotel’ as DELUXE, which is closed to a Two Star Hotels and ‘The Area’s Hotel’ as STANDARD, which is closed to a One Star Hotels.
Also it is to be noted that there is a vehicle - parking problem in the whole area. Most of the areas are restricted to entry of vehicle & specific time is allotted for entries. Guests are requested to follow the time strictly as given to them. In case of delays the vehicle will have to leave the hotel area without the guest & parked in designated parking area. In such case the guest will have to arrange / bear transit in a Local Taxi FOR WHICH THE COST WILL HAVE TO BE BORNE BY THE GUEST & WILL BE COLLECTED DIRECTLY.
It is mandatory for visitors to sign an indemnity bond for all tours more so in case one is taking adventure trip or visiting north Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Protected areas in entire North East India.
In the area (almost all) the hotels do not have a lift facility & in all the hotels the guest will have to climb stairs. In case of guest having problem with blood pressure, knee & heart or if they cannot climb the higher floors, will have to intimate to us during the time of booking so that we can block, rooms at the lowest floor of the hotel enabling the guest to climbing the minimum number of stairs possible.
Tours to Gurudongmar, Lachen & Lachung in North Sikkim, Nathula in East Sikkim, Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh are not recommended for guests who have Heart /Asthma and Knee stress/ problem. TourGenie would not be responsible in any way if information of this nature is not provided or suppressed.
In a hilly area scarcity of water is a huge problem. Everybody buys water for their day – to - day living. Guests are requested to cope up with such problem faced during the tour. To overcome this problem certain hotels have fixed time of supplying hot & cold water.
It is to be noted that incase, the guest is arriving by train in the late evening / night & are departing early morning, it is mandatory for them to spend a night in Siliguri/ Guwahati. In such situation of late arrival & early departure, if the client does not having a booking, then the client will have to wait at the Waiting Room at the station. Our Representative will be meeting the guest at 0600 hrs. This has been planed keeping the security in mind.
Sikkim, Darjeeling, Meghalaya & Arunachal Pradesh are a hilly area & sudden change is weather is a regular happening. It is advisable that light woolen clothing should be carried always. In winters it is advisable to carry heavy woolen along with an umbrella or a Rain Coat.
Landslide is a common happening in hilly area. Expenses incurred for diversion, due to this or any other reasons will be collected directly as per actual.
Room heaters, water boilers may not work in all places due to voltage fluctuations.
In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
Mobile services may not be active in all destinations. Pre-paid roaming and International roaming connection does not work in those regions.
Credit Cards / Traveler’s cheque are not freely accepted in this region except for major town like Gangtok, Darjeeling, Guwahati, & Shillong.
Every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes, landslide etc., which are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes and any additional cost, will be borne by the guests directly.
For comfortable journey we advise carry limited luggage.
Only local vehicles are allowed for PTSo lake and Madhuri lake visits at Tawang, hence, guests have to hire local vehicle and our driver will assist the guests, but please note that we or our driver have no control for the same.
As per Honorable Supreme Court circulation no tourist vehicle are allowed to use luggage carrier on their roof specifically for Arunachal Pradesh.
Permits are required to visit Arunachal Pradesh, certain areas in Sikkim, Manipur and Nagaland. These permits are subject to availability, on the travel dates, and may be cancelled by Concerned State Governments with or without assigning any valid reason. TourGenie will not be held responsible for cancellation / non availability of these travel permits in any way.
Local Vehicles can take you to Boarder town of Moreh, day visitor passes are easily available for Indian nationals on submission of Voters Id Card or Aadhar Card. Local auto rickshaws are available at a cost of Rs 500.00 to take you around to market town of Tamu in Myanmar.
