Krang Suri is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the West Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya State. It is located in the Amlarem Civil Sub Division. To transform the place into a tourist destination the District Administration has initiated steps to construct Chiseled and graveled footpaths and view points to enable visitors to better appreciate the beauty of the waterfall and its surroundings. The footpaths are hewn from the natural multi colored stones available in the area, no cement has been used and stones have been placed symmetrically to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.
This fall is 90 kms from the capital town of Shillong. This trip is cut-out for nature lovers as it takes you through winding roads brimming with greenery. After three hours drive, arrive at a stone pathway that is studded with visuals of beautiful flora, big rocks and perennially active falls; the greenish blue tint of the waterfalls is breathtaking. The waterfall is as blue as the sky itself.
Krang Suri Falls
Krang Suri is one of the most appaling, beautiful and exotic waterfalls present in the state of Meghalaya. One can also reach here from Jowai which is 30 kms. Krang Suri waterfall is known for being located within the mountains, which can also be seen from afar. To reach the waterfall the tourists must walk alongside the border of the mountains, which is a very narrow yet slippery path. This makes the trip to the Krang Suri waterfall even more thrilling as you will be able to see the steep of the mountains and the height of the mountain.
The colour of the plunge pool is what startles everyone. It is the most gorgeous shade of deep, copper sulphate blue. Go for a dip at the plunge pool and take in the tranquil ambience.
The best time to visit Krang Suri would be during late summer as the rainy season can make the pathway to the waterfall very slippery and dangerous. A least explored place and perfect offbeat destination and very few tourists venturing here.
