Spring in Nepal: The spring season in Nepal generally starts from the month of March and lasts till May to the mid of April. This time of the year is highly pleasant to travel to Nepal. The longer days and short nights, clear skies, pleasant and fresh aromatic air make it comfortable for travelers to travel to different parts of the country, visit and explore them. During this time of the year in Nepal, you will witness things you had only seen on postcards and movies. The blooming of flowers and trees, chirping of the birds, fresh growth of lush green grasses all over the valleys and hills, crystalline skies, picturesque views of the mountains during dawn and dusk, and clear water are the sights to be kept preserved in memories. At this time of the year in Nepal, you will not be able to experience any occurrence of snowfall in high altitudes but if you want to feel the chill and enjoy snowfall, spring is not the time for you to visit Nepal. However, spring is one of the perfect seasons to go trekking in the Himalayas in Nepal since days are long and warm but it can still be chilly at night. If you are planning to visit Nepal during the mid of May for trekking, you must check the weather forecast before proceeding with trekking since light to medium showers are possible at this time of the year as it is the end of Nepal’s spring season.

Summer in Nepal: Summer in Nepal ranges from the month of May to August. The days are warm and hot at this time of the year. Travelers visit Nepal at this time of the year too but they are mostly drawn by the festivals like Teej, Janai Purnima, Bloom festival, Mustang Tiji festival, etc that take place in these months and are popular in Nepal. The starting of summer is comfortable enough to travel, however as the months pass by the temperature can exceed 400 Celsius and in some places, it can exceed 450 Celsius as well making it unsuitable for traveling. Hence it is not recommended to visit Nepal at this time of the year unless your motive is not to just travel and enjoy your holidays but to be a part of the colorful Nepalese festivals and culture.

Monsoon in Nepal: The monsoon season occurs from the month of June to August. Summer and monsoon clashes in Nepal and during the month of July to mid of August the temperature becomes warm and hot and can pour anytime making the atmosphere humid and hot. It is not recommended to visit Nepal at this time since unpredictable rainfalls may sometimes result in small to big landslides and are also not really comfortable for you to travel in a humid environment. If you happen to visit Nepal during the monsoon, be extra cautious and check on the weather forecast before planning your day out.

Autumn & Winter in Nepal: The autumn season in Nepal starts in the month of September with the end of monsoon days. It is one of the best times to visit and explore Nepal. Some of the vibrant and colorful Nepalese festivals take place at this time of the year too. You do not have to worry about rainfalls and landslides. The clear skies with the elegant shades of blue and orange hue at dawn and dusk are worth seeing. This is one of the best seasons to visit Nepal as the monsoon washes away the dust and brings exceptional clarity. Winter begins slowly in Nepal from October and many prefer visiting in winter too. The winter lasts up to February and these months are also the best times to visit Nepal. The temperature varies from a place to another but on an average, it can drop as low as 20 Celsius and the maximum could be 180 Celsius. Autumn and the winter seasons are the best times to go trekking; however, make sure to carry warm woolen clothes with you.
