Symper Rock is a dome shaped rock with a flat top in Mawjymbuin Cave in Mawsynram. Due to years of weathering and due to dripping of mineral solutions and deposition of calcium carbonate, it has thus given rise to some magnificent stalagmites. These stalagmites are not only important and of great interest for geological research but also because of their exquisiteness. The stalagmite of the Mawjymbuin Cave is shaped into a massive Shivalinga.
There is an easy hike from Mawsynram. This place is highly recommended as you can escape from the crowds and get yourself close to nature. The moment you get here you will be entering the not so thick forest but once can get a fresh air out from nature. It is always windy towards the cliff. People enjoy huge green fields surrounded from all side of this rock.
Its 3 kms from Mawsynram and winters are considered to be the best time to visit Symper Rock. In monsoons it is slippery and leeches also create problems while hiking in forest. It’s a must visit place for adventure and peace lovers.
