The Kekar Monying is a mountain cliff near Rottung in East Siang and is one of the most popular tourist destination and an important historical place to visit in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. The state has many memories in this historical place because in the year of 1911 on 4th December many Adi tribesmen put up a strong fight against the British and many sacrifices their lives and died a heroic death. A native of Yagrung village, Narmi Matmur Jamoh killed the Assistant Political Officer of the British, Noel Williamson and the black stone on the cliff is dedicated to his memorial. The height of the Kekar Moniyang the stone cliff is about 500m long and 50 meters high and the places offers a stunning view of the surrounding. To reach the top of the Kekar Monying cliff one needs to trek upwards. Once you reach the top of the cliff they can view the unparalleled view of the surrounding and pay a visit to the memorial black stone the Kekar Monying. If the visitors are in Pasighat they can also visit places like Pangin and Komsing which are nearby Pasighat and the taxi are also easily available for these places. One can also enjoy the beautiful view of the Siang River. Komsing is a small village on the bank of the River Siang this is the place where the British had erected an epitaph/memorial stone of Sir N.Willamson. There is also a long and high suspension bridge constructed by the British. There are many places to visit in and around Pasighat, if you are planning to visit Pasighat then the months between November and April are the best time to visit and during these months the sky remains mostly clear and the visitors or the tourists can enjoy the scenic views of the surroundings.
