Kumbhu Lhakhang is 30 minutes away from Phobjikha Valley. From the Kuenzang Chholing Shedra, there is a dirt road by which it takes about 10 minutes to reach here. Kumbhu Lhakhang is said to have been built by Tibetan sculptors in this beautiful valley, whose work can be seen in the temple design.
Kumbhu means '100,000 statues' which is a protector chapel and meditation-retreat centre dedicated to the ancient Bon deity Sipey Gyalmo and featuring a statue of the Medicine Buddha on the ground floor. However, in the event of rainfall, the dirt track might become inaccessible by car and one walk for an hour to reach here. It is advisable to follow proper clothing etiquette to visit Lhakhang.
