Lumla Dolma Lhakhang is a huge statue of Jetsun Dolma or Tara Devi with prayer hall underneath. It is in the Tawang northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Lumla Dolma Lhakhang is located at Lumla which is about 45 km from Tawang and it on way to Gorzam Chorten Stupa. To reach Lumla Dolma Lhakhang is very easy. Tawang is easily accessible by road. The nearest airport is Tezpur airport of Assam, from Tezpur airport, one needs to travel by road. The nearest railway station is Bhalukpong and from Bhalukpong, one needs to travel by road to reach Tawang. Another easily accessible airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati, Assam. The Arunachal Pradesh Helicopter Service is also operational from Guwahati Airport and presently the Helicopter services operate from Tawang to Guwahati and back on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Most of the travelers travel to Tawang via road from Guwahati though the road journey is quite long and it’s almost 545 kilometers from Guwahati to Tawang and its almost 16 hours drive. During the long journey, it is advisable to stay overnight at least in two places. Tawang also has many other places to visit like Chagzam Bridge, Gorzam Chorten Zemithang, Nuranang Waterfall Jang, War Memorial, Tawang Monastery, etc.
From Tawang town it takes almost one and a half hours to reach Lumla Dolma Lhakhang. Though the roads are bumpy and narrow one will surely enjoy since you will get to see the mountains covered with snow during winter while one the way you will be crossing many villages.
