Best Live Performance Resto Bars

(1) Gangtok Groove

Gangtok Groove is famous for western cuisine and live bands. Every Friday & Saturday, the place hosts amazing local bands whose music encompass a host of genres, from pop to folk to blues. NSPD Collective, RigMona, Gino, Joe's Apartment, and Flying Kik (Bhutan) are some bands you can catch if lucky. You have to pay an entry fee of Rs 300/- to witness the gigs.

(2)DJ's Downtown Resto Bar / Rooftop Cafe

DJ’s Downtown Resto Bar is quite famous among the young crowd who want to unwind with some good music. The place also serves pretty decent food. The best thing about this place is the open mike and karaoke facility, not to mention their refurnished rooftop area, which keeps the place swarming with locals and tourists alike at any given day and hour.

(3) Cafe Live & Loud

Cafe Live & Loud is an amazing place to hang out and usually reels in most of the foreign tourists. During the day, the place looks like just another cafe, but it is during the night that it comes to life. As you climb the florescent steps leading to the club, you will be taken in for a surprise. The inner area is an acoustically designed live music club. It has a lounge area, where you can sit and relax with your favorite drinks from their well-stocked bar. On Friday's you can catch live bands such as Gxsoul, Nightmares (progressive rock), and Granite Yard (rap metal), and Saturday's are DJ nights.

Famous Discotheques

(1) The Beat

The Beat is one of the popular discotheques in Gangtok. It's enjoys an ideal location near MG Marg and is not so high on the pocket, which might be some of the reasons why it draws in huge crowds. The entry fees ranges from Rs 500-700/- (locals and non-locals are charged differently). It operates 3 days a week: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

(2) After Dark

After Dark is just the right club in Gangtok to visit. It is the best hang out club for those in big groups. The ambiance of the place is very attractive and you won't be able to resist yourself from tapping the whole night. It operates 3 days a week: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Casino Deltin Denzong is a luxurious casino and gaming facility. Go crazy over the 169 gaming machines the casino offers, with options such as poker, roulette, blackjack, casino wars, and money wheels. The cover charge includes multicuisine buffet dinner, unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and live entertainment. There are a number of packages to choose from, including Ladies Special, which cost between Rs 1,855 -  6,525.
