Ilong Park also called Lalong Park is located about 8 kms from Jowai. It is known for its sacred grove and for its setting which overlooks the beautiful Pynthorwah Valley. Through the Special DRDA Tourism Project the District Administration have taken step to beautify the park by creating infrastructure such as water dams and canals, toilet facilities with changing rooms, hoardings, jungle clearance which has attracted tourist far and wide. A water eco park is also taking shape with an intention to change Ialong into a major Tourism Hub of the District.
The park lies in West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya and situated on the Jowai-Silchar highway, it is one of the wonderful places to visit in Meghalaya and among the popular places to visit in Jowai. Sprawling over an area of 12.80 hectares, the park is constantly being renovated by the District Administration. The place is well accommodated with water dams, toilets, canals, changing rooms etc. A variety of flowers, some native to Meghalaya adorn the park. One can sit on the grassy slopes and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset from the park.

The place offers a picturesque view of the paddy fields on the banks of River Myntdu. The park also has Traveller's nest, run by the Ialong Tourism Cooperative Society Limited, which provide a comfortable stay in nature lap. Treks & camp sites along the meandering Myntdu River are arranged all year round except the rainy season. Besides, the park also hosts monthly archery competitions for the local inhabitants as well as tourists.
Ilong park can be rated as one of the best amusement parks in Meghalaya. It is best to visit between the months of November to June and one can reach there by hiring a cab from Shillong. There is no entry fee to this park.
