Take a ride on the Tawang Ropeway

Ropeway in Tawang is a brand new attraction in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is a northeastern state in India in Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is famous for Tawang monastery. There are many places to visit in and around Tawang. The brand new attraction in Tawang for the tourist is ropeway or a cable car. The ropeway connects the town of Tawang to Gyangong Ani Gumpa. A 20 minutes ride on the ropeway of Tawang is worth it. For a one way ride it is almost 20 minutes and the fare for the general public is INR 100.00 per person and the fare for nuns and children below 10 years is INR 25.00 per person only. The ropeway service is available to travel from Tawang Monastery to Gyangong Ani Gompa only. The Gyangong Ani Gompa is located on the top of a beautiful hillock and it is about 5 kilometers away from Tawang town. The Gompa has 50 Buddhist nuns. The Gyangong Ani Gompa was founded by Mera Lam Lodre Gyamtso, the Nunnery was later offered by him to his elder sister.

Brand new attraction of Tawang the ropeway gives the traveler a stunning view. If you are thinking to visit Tawang at least once in a lifetime then do not forget to experience the ropeway. While taking a ride on it, one can enjoy the serene beauty of snow-capped mountain (during the season), grazing area, villages at a distance, etc. Mostly People usually like to visit Tawang because of the rich Tibetan culture and the famous Tawang Monastery.

Tawang is easily accessible by road. The nearest airport is Tezpur airport of Assam, from Tezpur airport, one needs to travel by road. The nearest railway station is Bhalukpong and from Bhalukpong, one needs to travel by road to reach Tawang. Most of the travelers travel to Tawang via road from Guwahati. The best time to visit Tawang is during the months of March to June, September, and October because the temperature remains comfortable and it pleasant. During winter it is very cold and most of the time the roads are blocked due to heavy snowfall. So it is better to visit during the summer and the onset of the monsoon season.
