Since the village has rich treasures of numerous ancient caves, it also makes as an idyllic place for avid cavers to embark on enthralling caving expeditions. Daporijo is a place for the tourist who wants to experience a rural life one can experience the rural life staying in a homestay at Ligu village if Daporijo the homestay are operated by the local villagers. The Ligu village comes under the upper Subansiri district in Daporijo in the state of Arunachal Pradesh of India. A distance from Daporijo town to Ligu village is approximately 7 kilometers which is almost a 22 minutes drive. This is a small village with almost 344 people and it is the third most populous village in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. They cook local food of Daporijo which is very tasty, delight and one will really love to taste at least once when they want to experience the rural life in Ligu village. The food in the village is mostly cooked over charcoal is very tasty. The most eaten thing in Daporijo and in the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh is bamboo shoot. Fish is found in abundance in Daporijo so, trying out Ngatok, an authentic fish curry absolutely makes for a must-try when in the town. A meal in Daporijo is not complete without sipping on some Apong which is a light homemade beer made of a variety of rice and an important asset of every household in Arunachal. One can easily spend a day with the villagers and the people of homestay and will get a chance to sneak – peek into their daily life style. If you really want to explore Dapority and its culture then visiting Daporijo during the Si Donyi Festival will be the best. The festival is celebrated during the month of January and this festival is the most significant festival of this Tagin Tribe and during the festival, they worship Sun and Earth.
