Many solo travelers prefer Darjeeling as their tour destination. They should follow some tips while visiting this wonderful place to make their trip memorable. Below are few tips for solo travelers visiting Darjeeling:

Advance Accommodation Booking: One should book stay in advance before coming to Darjeeling. As it’s a hill station, number of good stays is less as compared to plain areas. Hence, to get a good deal of comfortable accommodation, traveler should book it in advance. There are a lot of options available online for stay bookings. Also for cost cutting you may book a dormitory or youth hostel.

Talk to locals with smile: People in hills are very calm and polite. Even they talk each other with respect. Therefore, they expect outsiders too to communicate with them in same manner. Hence talk to locals with a smiling face and courtesy.

Use shared vehicles: To enjoy local life, one should roam around in shared taxis. Hiring a whole cab can cost high to a single traveler. Hence, this will help in cost cutting also.

Save stay owner/ manager contact number: Ask stay owner for his/ her contact numbers. In case you need assistance to search shops or restaurants, he will be the most trusted person. Also, if you become late at evening to return your stay, you can call its owner/ manager for help.

Start Your Day Early: Be an early bird. Getting up early makes it easier to avoid the crowds at popular attractions before others leave their hotel for the day. Also, sun sets early here, so you can cover more places till evening.
