Tashi View Point is one of the major attractions of Gangtok and is located at a distance of 8 km from the main town, near Pangthang. The place is a must-visit for nature lovers as it offers great views of the imposing Himalayan mountains, specifically Mount Khangchendzonga and Mount Siniolchu.
On a clear day, mountains can be seen in their full splendor, especially at dawn when the sun’s rays hit the mountain peaks, enveloping them in shades of pink, orange, gold, and finally white. To enjoy the best view, go during the early morning or during the evening (golden hours) to this place. This panoramic site was built by the late King of Sikkim. The Tourism Department has constructed a resting shed, a park, and a small cafeteria for visitors.
Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Labrang Monastery, and Phodong Monastery along with distant villages of North Sikkim on a clear day.
