The village Chimney is almost 8 kilometer away from the town Kurseong, it is uphill drive from Kurseong. The village is heaven for true nature lovers since one can also do a bird watching in nearby village called Bagora and the village Chimney is nestled into the clouds. One can see the great view of the River Teesta and the tea garden, the name of the village Chimney is derived from the 100 years old Chimney which was built at the time of World War I by the British and the height of the Chimney is almost 24 feet and it is also one of the tourist attraction of Kurseong. Chimney village is almost at a distance of 30 minutes drive from the village Bagora and it is an ideal place for trekkers and bird watchers.

Once you reach the Chimney village one can spend time to explore the village, people, culture and the life of the local people. The village Chimney is beautifully surrounded by a luxuriant alpine forest and the astounding Himalayan Mountains in the backdrop. It is one of the most and major attractions of the Chimney village. There are many other tourist attractions in and around the village Chimney like the lush green forest, the countless birds, the breathtaking view of Kanchendzongna peaks, Bogara village, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Museum, Chatakpur, Dowhill Deer Park and many more. There are otrhe religious places like St. Paulseak Church, Jagdish Mandir, Buddhist Gompa and many more. One can also visit the Singel Tea Estate, Makaibari Tea Estate etc. There are other things to do in and around the chimney village like a hike to a gigantic Chimney from Kurseong, do a one day leisure sightseeing around the town. To reach Chimney one need to go by road, the nearest airport is Bagdogra airport and the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri railway station and both the airport and railway station are in Siliguri, West Bengal. From both the places one needs to take a private cab or hire a taxi to reach Kurseong and the Chimney village. One can visit the place throughout the year.
