Arrival at Paro International Airport and Thimphu Sightseeing 

  • Check into the hotel, have some refreshment,s and visit the following Places:

  • Memorial Chorten

  • Buddha Point

  • School of Thirteen Arts & Crafts

  • National Textile Museum

  • Tashichho Dzong
Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Morning: Hike to Cheri Monastery. Drive to north of Thimphu Valley (15kms) and hike to Cheri Monastery for 30 – 45mins.

  • National Takin Reserve

Thimphu – Punakha

  • Drive to Punakha after breakfast Punakha Altitude:  1300m/4265ft.

  • Start your morning by enjoying and taking pictures of the Dochula Pass (3150m/10,000ft) with its panoramic views of the Himalayas.  

  • Chimmi Lhakhang

  • Punakha Dzong

  • Punakha suspension bridge: this is an exciting bridge for photography enthusiasts.

Punakha Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, hike or drive to Khamsum Yulley Temple. Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten is 30 meters (100 feet) tall and can be seen in the distance when driving or walking up from the footbridge towards the lodge.

  • The hike there is about 45 minute – 1 hour round trip, Picnic lunch or lunch in a local restaurant.  

  • After lunch, drive to Kabisa which is about 15kms away from Punakha and explore Kabisa Gewog(village, school etc). Settle into Chorten Nynpo Monsatery in Kabisa. There are about 50 monks in this monastery. Interact with the monks. Get a glimpse of the monastic lifestyle. Meditation with Lama Sonam.

Punakha – Paro

Drive to Paro after breakfast. En-route visit the Lamperi Botanical Gardens – The garden is located in the center of a 47 sq. mile botanical park (35km from Thimphu) and has over 46 species of rhododendrons flowers.

  • Afternoon: Continue your journey towards Paro and visit following places

  • National Museum

  • Paro Rinpung Dzong

  • Kyichu Lhakhang

Highlights of the Paro Valley–Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Walk

  • To avoid the hot sun an early start is advisable for the two-hour climb to the Tiger’s Nest viewpoint. Taktsang Monastery or Tiger's Nest is the most famous/ iconic visuals that we associate with Bhutan. It is a must visit for every tourist.

  • Return to Paro in the afternoon for some time to rest and relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotels and also you will have an option to do a Bhutanese Hot Stone Bath with an additional cost.

  • In the evening you are invited for a farewell bonfire dinner or dine at a restaurant. 

Depart Bhutan

  • Druk Air normally departs in the morning. After breakfast, depart according to your flight schedule.
