Morigaon is a town of the town area committee and the district headquarters of Morigaon district in the Indian state of Assam and including the headquarters of the Tiwa Autonomous Council, Tiwashong, Assam which was constituted by the Government of Assam on 14 April 1995. There are amazing touristic places like a wildlife sanctuary, parks, and many more.
It is a famous wildlife sanctuary on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra in Morigaon district in Assam. It was declared in 1987 and covers 38.85 km², providing grassland and wetland habitat for the Indian rhinoceros. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary holds one of the largest Indian rhinoceros’ populations in Assam.
It is located in Jagirod. It’s almost 700mtr far away from the Jagirod Chariali. The way is very good. The entrance fee is ₹20 per person. You will find a small (100 meter) long waterfall. Simple statues of animals and some swinging areas for kids are there. It is absolutely good to take out family and kids.
