Arrival – Borong

We will pick you up from Bagdogra airport/NJP railway station and drive you to the picturesque village of Borong.

To fully embrace the native way of life, we’ve booked you at the Rahul Home stay, where you can experience local hospitality, food, and lodging.

Trek to Gai Kharka

Your exciting trek starts today. After a hearty breakfast, you will start the trek up to the first night’s camping site, Gai Kharka, which is approx 6 hrs away. A well-made cobbled stoned trail, which runs through a mixed temperate forest of chestnuts, oak, and mid-altitude bamboos, ensures a delightful 6-hour walk. Packed lunch will be served at Harre, which is midway to Gai Kharka.

You will be spending the night at a campsite. Away from city lights, you can witness the beauty of a star-studded night sky.

Trek to Dalley Dhunga

This morning, you will trek up to Dalley Dhunga. It is said that during one of the intrusions of the Royal Nepalese Army under King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the soldiers of Royal Nepalese Army reached this spot and had put markers.

You will reach Dalley Dhunga by lunch time and set up camp. Post lunch, you will visit Kal Pohkri and come back to the camp (possible only during summer time).

Overnight stay at the campsite.

Trek back to Gai Kharka

You will be heading back to Gai Kharka today. Once there, you can relax in your tents. Later, huddle around a camp fire and enjoy an early warm dinner.

Camping at Harre

We know trekking and camping outdoors can get addictive, so we’re setting up camp at Harre too before you head back to the mundane routine awaiting you.

After breakfast, you will trek back to Harre. Once you’ve set up camp, you can enjoy some camping activities.

Departure

After your last breakfast in the outdoors, you will head to Borong from Harre and then we’ll drive you to Bagdogra airport/N.J.P. railway station. We hope you take back happy memories and await your return for another exciting trip with us.
