Zangto Pelri Lhakhang is located in the heart of the Phuentsholing town at just few steps from the Bhutan - India gate and is the adjoined with a park. Zangto Pelri means celestial abode of Guru Rinpoche. The gates to the park greet the visitors warmly and the entrance is led by flower gardens and a fountain. It is situated near Immigration Office.

Zangto Pelri Lhakhang is home to the exact replica of Guru Rinpoche, with eight life-size idols of different manifestations of the revered guru. Statues of Bodhisattvas, paintings of Lord Buddha, and statues of Avalokiteshvara are a few artistic wonders you shouldn’t miss during your visit.

The park is famous among both locals and tourists as it is a great place to relax and mellow their thoughts. Elders come to circumambulate around the Lhakhang and spin the prayer wheels to spend their day away while children play and chit chat away with their friends. The ambience of the park is very pleasant and the tinkle sound from the rotating prayer wheels is a therapy to the ears and the mind in itself. A visit inside the Lhakhang is absolutely recommended as it has a collection of statues and the walls echo with paintings and mural of Guru Padmasambhava and other great saints of Bhutan.

In the evening the fountain is lit up and the giant prayer wheels and the rows of smaller ones offers a glimpse of what we are about to experience once we begin our onwards journey to the spiritually and culturally rich land of thunder dragon.

The tranquil ambiance and astounding architecture of Zangto Pelri Lhakhang can be relished throughout the year but morning hours during the prayer time is considered the best time to visit the Lhakhang. Zangto Pelri Lhakhang remains open for the visitors from 8am to 6pm daily.
