Veda Peak is the highest peak in Mon district. Located almost 70 km from district headquarters, this peak gives a clear and absolutely stunning view of the Brahmaputra river and Chindwin river (which runs through Burma) when the skies are clear. Another attraction at Veda peak is the famous waterfall. This area is considered one of the best locations in the district.
Winter is the best time to visit Veda when the weather is the best with average temperature to make your visit an enjoyable and comfortable one. The snowcapped hilly ranges are an added treat during this season. Veda peak was the place where the British soldiers first erected their camp, it was the place where the British planted the first opium plant in the land of Konyak Naga.

Veda Peak is also known as Pak Koi Veda. Located in the heart of the land of Konyak Naga tribals, who are known for their artistic bent of mind, they consider the peak as one of the most beautiful locations of their land and have great affection for it. The trekking routes are not very difficult and can be accomplished within a few hours. However, while the trek route is in itself lovely, the peak that is mesmerizing.
