The Dumboor Lake which is located at Gandacherra is must visit place in the state of Tripura. The place is almost 120 kilometres away from Agartala the capital city of Tripura. The look of the lake is like a small drum, “Dumboor” of Lord Shiva. The lake is very beautiful and the Dumboor Lake is a perfect escape destination on the weekend, this is the best place for taking a small recess from everyday stressful life, and spent a quality time. The view is marvellous with its natural vibration and the natural beauty can steal everyone’s heart. The massive and breathtaking water body of 41 sq.km. with an unending green vegetation all around stands majestic for her exceedingly charming beauty and 48 islands in the midst of the lake. The water sports facilities and the migratory birds are additional attractions of the Dumboor Lake.

It lies at the confluence of Rivers Raima and Sarma and is home to various species of migratory birds, visible mostly during the winters. There is a Hydel Project near the lake from where River Gomati originates and this is called Tirthamukh where on 14th January every year famous 'Pous Sankranti Mela' takes place. One can use the helicopter services to reach Gandacherra and the nearest helipad is in Gandacherra subdivision and the nearest airport is Maharaja Bir Bikram airport of Agartala. From Dumboor Lake one can go to Coconut Island by boat.
