Vijaynagar the remotest part of Changlang district

Vijaynagar or Vijoynagar is one of the remotest tehsils of the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh of India in the district of Changlang district. But a Lisu person the place is originally known as Dawodi but officially it is named Vijaynagar. Vijaynagar is a cluster of 16 small villages on the border with Myanmar. The place is beautifully surrounded by Myanmar on three sides while the one side is flanked by the large chunk of a thick forest of Namdapha National Park and it is also surrounded by natural beauty. It is in a beautiful location, the nearest town from Vijaynagar is Miao which is almost 157 kilometers away and if anyone walks by foot march it will take about 6 days to reach the Miao town. Hayuliang and Tezu are the nearest towns in India's side from Vijaynagar at a distance of 116 kilometers from Tezu and 108 kilometers away from Hayuliang. Putao which is 40 kilometers away from Vijaynagar is the nearest town in Myanmar side. The inhabitant of that place are dependent upon Military helicopter for essential requirements and services since there is no road connectivity and almost fifty-five percent of the population belongs to retired Assam Rifle and the remaining forty-five percentage is of Civilians comprising of mainly Lisu (Yobin) people. The essential requirements are carried from Dibrugarh by air to Miao and from Miao they bring on foot. For livelihood the villagers have to depend on Wetland and Jhoom Cultivation and are totally dependent on rainfall. Salt and sugar are very expensive in Vijaynagar and it is sold at a minimum of 200 per kg. For connectivity and construction of a road the people of Vijaynagar have requested the government for a couple of years which is yet to be undertaken by the authority. To reach Vijaynagar one has to arrive at Mohanbari airport in Dibrugarh of Assam and from Mohanbari airport one can avail helicopter sortie services on Tuesday and Thursday only but the services are very irregular.
